Acting Mad: The Use of Actors in Psychiatric Training and Assessment Practices
Description
This study will critically examine the use of actors in UK psychiatric training. It will seek to better understand the politics of such practices for mental health care and policy. It will also examine what performance, as a methodology, can reveal about the training of psychiatric professionals and the implications of this for concepts such as personhood and subjectivity.
