Optimising wearable and digital psychological support for mental health co-morbidities in physical health services
Description
Individuals living with long term physical health conditions are twice as likely to experience mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety or depression, which are associated with poor health outcomes (Kings Fund, 2012; 2020). The NHS Long term plan proposes digital interventions as a solution to providing cost effective psychological support without the burden of waiting lists. Advances in wearable digital technology offer opportunities for delivering personalised psychological support at the time of need, which was recently identified a clinical priority in our patient public involvement work.
This DTP project will explore the need for individualised, time of need wearable and digital psychological support for cardiovascular diseases patients.
