Mental Health among Minority Groups: The assessment of core resilience factors

Mental health assessment among minority groups is hampered by mental health assessments that reveal little about the co-morbidities associated with health, cognitive, and socio-economic disadvantages and adverse conditions experienced by minority groups.

There are four naturally occurring core risk-versus-resilience capabilities (recovery, sustainability, adaptability, and social cohesion) underpinning a range of emotional (including depression and anxiety), health, cognitive, and socio-economic assessments. The PhD will develop reliable and valid efficient estimates of four core risk-versus-resilience capabilities for use among minority groups. These estimates will assess resilience among minority-group individuals that considers the context of their current emotional, health, cognitive and socio-economic capacity.
