We are proud to share that Denisse Levermore has contributed a chapter on Children & Young People’s Mental Health to The Students’ Handbook for Studying Health and Social Care, edited by Clive Sealey and published by Routledge at the end of 2025.

This comprehensive student resource offers essential context, knowledge and practice skills for those studying health and social care, covering topics that include legislation, communication, inclusive practice and mental health. Denisse’s chapter on children and young people’s mental health provides an accessible and insightful analysis that will serve as a foundational reference for students and future practitioners working with diverse young populations.

Her contribution reflects the interdisciplinary ethos of the MHN DTP and aligns with Wellcome’s priorities around improving understanding of mental health across the lifecourse and supporting knowledge that has meaningful impact on practice and wellbeing outcomes. By combining academic rigour with practical relevance, Denisse’s work will help equip the next generation of health and social care professionals with the skills and perspectives needed to support mental health in children and young people.

We extend our warm congratulations to Denisse on this achievement, an exciting milestone in her PhD journey and a valuable addition to the field of health and social care education.
