Alongside her doctoral studies, she was appointed Head of Clinical Radiotherapy Physics at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH), where she provides strategic and professional leadership for radiotherapy physics services within one of the UK’s leading cancer centres.

Anna’s work spans clinical practice, research, and innovation, with a focus on harnessing imaging, radiotherapy, and data-driven approaches to improve outcomes and quality of life for people living with neurological and oncological conditions. Her journey demonstrates the powerful role that research-active healthcare professionals play in transforming patient care.

Reflecting on her experience with the Midlands MHN DTP, Anna said

The Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) was instrumental in my professional development, providing a unique environment in which I could simultaneously grow as a researcher, clinical scientist, and leader. The interdisciplinary nature of the programme fostered collaborations across neuroscience, healthcare, and data science, broadening my perspective and strengthening my ability to translate research into clinical impact that contributed to my appointment as Head of Clinical Radiotherapy Physics at Nottingham University Hospitals and the award of Consultant Clinical Scientist status during my PhD fellowship.

Most importantly, the DTP provided a network of mentors, peers, and collaborators whose guidance and encouragement helped shape my career and reinforced my commitment to improving patient care through research and innovation.

Congratulations, Anna, on these exceptional achievements. We are delighted to have supported your journey and look forward to seeing the continued impact of your leadership, research, and innovation on healthcare and patient outcomes.
